The Card

The angel Gabriel blows a great trumpet. Below, figures rise from coffins with arms outstretched — men, women, children. Mountains of ice frame the scene. They have heard the call and they answer it. This is resurrection, reckoning, and renewal all at once.

Symbolism

Gabriel's trumpet announces the end and beginning of a cycle. The coffins floating on water represent the unconscious releasing its contents. The grey mountains of ice are the cold, frozen past — even they cannot contain what must emerge.

Upright

A calling to rise. The angel's trumpet sounds and figures rise from coffins — not in fear, but in answer. This card signals a moment of reckoning and renewal: honest assessment of where you've been, release of what no longer serves, and the answering of a genuine calling.

Reversed

Self-doubt, refusal of the call, inability to forgive oneself. The trumpet sounds but you won't rise.
